To make your house feel like a home, design a space that is unique to your wants and needs. Your home should showcase what has meaning to you.
There are many ways to personalise your home that will act as a way to show your personality and character. If you want your home to feel homely and welcoming, display your family photos and sentimental pieces.
When designing this room we wanted to create a space for our client from South county Dublin that was personal to him. My team and I chose wood flooring and neutral tones for the walls to enhance the pieces in the living room.
As this client is passionate about his wine collection and collecting unique antique pieces, we were delighted to incorporate these works into his home and showcase them in the finished scheme.
Blending antique pieces such as the intricately designed grey hanging mirror with modern works of art such as the turquoise glass accessories on the coffee table create a room that is fresh, charming and filled with character.
American interior designer and decorator, Albert Hadley, said: “The best rooms have something to say about the people who live in them.”
