My personal project, my home
I used to think a house was about the big moments.
The sweeping staircase.
The ceiling height.
The light when it pours in at a certain time of day.
And those things do matter. Of course they do.
But over the past while, something has shifted for me.
As we’ve been living through the renovation of our home in Dun Laoghaire—a protected
Victorian house from the 1860s—I’ve found myself paying attention to something else
entirely.
The smaller decisions.
The quieter layers.
The way a colour settles into a room.
How a shadow moves across a wall in the afternoon.
The weight of a light fitting—not just how it looks, but how it makes a space feel.
It’s my pleasure to share elements of my home with you, enjoy. M
